Aquapura Douro Valley in the famous Douro wine region of Portugal, is to offer its new and newly-converted luxury villa apartments for sale on a fractional basis.

Twenty one apartments have been created in the grounds of the award-winning hotel - an original 19th century manor house. Some are authentic wine cellar conversions and the remainder are newly-built in ultra-contemporary style. They are now available for purchase on a fractional freehold basis, meaning that buyers can purchase, for example, a quarter of the freehold (the bricks and mortar) of a luxury holiday home for a fraction of the price.

Using the example of a quarter share (which entitles the owner to 3 months usage spread across the year) prices start from just 112,500. Unique Fractional Mortgages are available through The Fractional Ownership Consultancy's exclusive arrangement with a UK Bank.

All of the newly-completed homes have been furnished with high specification designer furniture which is included in the price. Owners are also entitled to use the facilities at the 50-room hotel, including the 2,200 sq m spa, gym, library, outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and business centre.

A further advantage to owning a fraction of a property is the rental management programme where buyers can return any unused weeks to the rental pool operated by Aquapura and so create additional income. Owners can also exchange properties with other owners through a leading exchange provider.

Richard Diaz, Director of FOC Sales & Marketing says: Aquapura Douro Valley was one of only two hotels in Portugal credited in Tatler magazines 101 Best Hotels in the World for 2009. Bringing Fractional Ownership to Aquapura will allow more people to experience this outstanding 5 star resort in a truly beautiful part of the world, whilst enjoying the benefits of owning an appreciating asset.
